Nathalia is a Latin America Domain Expert at Dataminr. She monitors, tracks, and analyzes political, economic, and security developments for several Fortune 500 companies as well as public sector clients.
Prior to that, Nathalia was a research fellow on the Latin America team at Eurasia Group. As foreign affairs journalist at Veja magazine, the largest weekly in Brazil, she researched and reported in loco during events such as the political and economic crisis in Venezuela, elections in Argentina, Chile, Russia, Venezuela, and the US, legalization of marijuana in Uruguay, migration crisis in Central America, 2013 protests in Turkey, and terrorism in France. She worked as correspondent and commentator for major Brazilian media outlets while based in Israel from 2005 to 2011.
Nathalia holds a Masters in International Public Policy with concentrations in Global Risk Analysis and Latin America from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS); she graduated from the Pontificia Universidade Catolica (PUC-RJ) in 2005 with a BA in Journalism and from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2009 with an MA in International Relations with a focus on Conflict Resolution.
Johny is an Engineering Manager leading the mobile engineering team at Dataminr, one of the world’s leading artificial intelligence (AI) businesses.
Prior to Dataminr, Johny held roles at startups and institutions such as ThoughtWorks, NRML.com, Augmate, and Deutsche Bank. Whether refactoring code that needs unit tests, finding the MVP within an MVP, or shaping engineering teams to become well-oiled machines, he loves the challenge of building software as a team.
Part developer, part product designer, and part team lead, Johny cares about building software to solve problems.
Alex is Chief Scientist & SVP of AI at Dataminr. He is a scientist, speaker, and engineering executive with over 15 years of international experience in research and product impact at scale in multiple industries (Nauto, DigitalOcean, Yahoo, Telefónica, IDIAP-EPFL, Fuji Xerox, IBM, Siemens, and AT&T Bell Labs) in the U.S.A., Japan, Chile, Switzerland, Spain, and South Korea.
As a thought leader in AI, Alex has authored 100+ technical publications and patents in diverse topics in AI (h-index 39, over 6k citations) and has been featured widely in the press (ex. MIT Tech review, CNBC, Vice, TechCrunch, Yahoo! Finance, etc.). He has given over 90 invited talks all over the world, including talks at several O’Reilly conferences (AI, Strata, Velocity), the Deep Learning Summit (Re-Work), Tech Open Air, and Stanford, Cornell, Columbia and other Universities.
Previously, he was also a visiting professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology(KAIST) and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), an executive at Yahoo, and at several startup companies.
Alex holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University. He’s an Endeavor mentor.
